I used to like Rio, seemed a West Ham lad, didn't want to leave and by all accounts always followed us still and got a good reception on his returns to UP.
Then he moved to ManU and over the course of times seems to have dropped his West Ham roots and become a bit of a twat.

I remember an away game at Southampton in 1997. Saints fans really gave Rio stick that day as he had just been banned for drink driving. So hardly news that Rio liked a drink back in his West Ham days.
He and the rest of our defence was run ragged that day by a young Kevin Davies and we were beaten 3-1
